Sensational League is an international 7v7 professional women's football league launching in Summer 2026 across the Nordics, with planned expansion to the UK and US. The league combines elite competition with entertainment-driven festival game days, paid athletes, and year-round digital engagement.
Created by Saga Sports Group, founded by sports industry veterans Bettina Kuperman (CEO) and Majken Gilmartin (COO), Sensational League is designed to prove the commercial viability of women's football by building a platform where players, fans, brands, and cities are active co-creators.
The league features 8 teams led by athlete-influencer captains, a fast-paced 7v7 format optimized for broadcast and streaming, and a unique points system that rewards match performance, fan engagement, and community contribution.

With a Master's in Law and over two decades of experience in the international sports business, she has overseen bids and operations for major global events including the Olympic Games and FIBA World Championships, working closely with governments, federations, and corporate partners.
As CEO, Kuperman is spearheading the launch of The Sensational League - a bold new format built for the next era of women's sports. Combining competition and entertainment, the league redefines what professional women's football can look like, offering a dynamic platform where athletes, brands, and fans all win.
With Saga Sports Group, Bettina is building the infrastructure for a fast-scaling, entertainment-first women's sports ecosystem that blends play, purpose, and profitability - setting a new standard for how women's leagues grow and thrive.
Majken Gilmartin
COO - Saga Sports Group
Majken Gilmartin is a pioneer in women's sports and the creative force behind Saga Sports Group's event and league formats. As Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, she leads the design and delivery of The Sensational League, fusing fierce competition, fan culture, and community in a format that captures the energy of modern sports entertainment.
The creator of the UN-backed Global Goals World Cup, Gilmartin has spent two decades developing innovative sports platforms that engage women as both athletes and changemakers. Her work has been recognized by the International Olympic Committee, the UN, and leading global brands.
Through Saga, Gilmartin continues to push the boundaries of what sports can be - turning purpose into spectacle and redefining how women take center stage in global sports.
